Here is the only copyright information I could find on this 1909 film. The date suggests that it would be in the public domain, but the information I came across tells us it is labeled as creative commons/ share alike- no derivatives. It may (or may not) still be under copyright protection in the UK.
This movie is a preface to almost every dystopian Sci-Fi movie ever. It seems to predict not only WWI, but WWII perhaps. As best I can tell, it has some connection to a Jules Verne story. It, and many of the other videos on this blog are freely available on the Internet Archive site.
