A little of the story painfully slowly crafted.
King Oswerth stood with his sword in his hand, wearing his gold helmet. His ranks were swelled with soldiers, many of them the sons of the great and wealthy Gedas of Eos. This was to be the first time I would witness a battle fought on Eos, and to say I was partial to Oswerth’s forces would be an understatement. This is because his enemy on the field that day was Ubert, the man that held me captive, and mistreated me (although not as badly as others I would learn).
In fact, I would later find out that it was only Ubert’s superstition, the belief that I somehow came from the gods, that saved me from being executed. If their gods live in a Heaven, then I can understand how he could come to that conclusion. You see, I am Jake Bard, an astronaut from Earth. King Ubert, an unpleasant man, was the first to find my ship when I crash landed into Eos’s one great sea. Of course, much of that sea is frozen, and I was lucky enough to come down into relatively warm liquid water. I was taken prisoner that day, but since escaped, only after learning there was somewhere to escape to, which was behind Osbert’s lines.
The two armies glared at each other, uneasily, across the field, which was more of an expanse of red and brown muddy dirt, interspersed with sparse vegetation. Some of the men shouted insults at one another. All were ready to follow the orders of their kings into battle.
Out of curiosity, a video attempt the same way
So far, it appears to work. It was harder than just having the link. The embed code is still needed. This one of my songs called, "Little Bird Fly Away." Sorry for being at all commercial on this blog, but I feel like I have to use my own music mostly because of copyright issues.
Another test of different source for embed code
So far, this seems to work. I can't take credit for figuring this out. I got it from here. the song is mine, done with uke and vocals. Called, "Dusty uke." Update: hmm...after a certain period of time, it seems to stop working just as the audio tag with this source does. Still works when brought up as a "pop up" player. Update 2: It seems to work again once refreshed, or more perhaps it is a random problem.Update 3: Doesn't seem to work in Firefox, or perhaps it is an authentication problem, I don't know.
Beat the Devil
Public DNS servers
The reasons why a person might want a different DNS server than the one provided by the ISP internet provider vary. Perhaps, it is simply a matter of speed. In many cases, the standard resolver is too slow. Others might believe the internet is too insecure, and wish to prevent harmful sites from infecting their computer. Others might want to avoid the more adult oriented sites, as they want a family friendly experience.
It all depends on what you are looking for, partly based on your world view. For instance, DNS watch is a smaller free DNS that purports to be for those who value freedom and privacy. For the security minded there are many, such as Comodo DNS. And those are just a few. There are at least several more that can be easily found online.
Some are more like a service on top of being a dns, like Open DNS. This company offers more of a internet security service, along with other tools. They have a free plan and a paid one. Again, it all depends on what you want and how you see the world.
It isn't hard to do, depending on your system. It is simply a case of learning how to point your internet connection to the proper address, or to simplify, the right numbers that signify a certain server. Many of these sites explain the procedure to set up a device to use the particular DNS server.
Of course, if one is happy with the DNS they have, there is no reason to change it.
Many blogs or one
find my way
Second of the videos from youtube to put here. Don't know if I might import/export and combine a few blogs together instead of having so many. Probably not though.
Korean Peninsula
Since this has become my favorite blog to post things on for some reason, even though this certainly doesn't fit the theme (whatever the theme really is) of this blog, I thought I'd post it here. I'll probably post one other I thought came out well.
Test of compose from camera
Just a test. I hope the new copyright laws don,t apply to photographic reproduction of the cover. "Fair use for educational purposes only." A big book which I'm still very much at the start of.
Something with Google html error message tonight
fly away(song) test of different audio source
Apparently, this source does expire after a day or so. I'll leave it to remind me of what doesn't work. Maybe, I'll put the song up separately at a later time.
Image post attempt from tablet
Third time is a charm? Would not work from google drive. Of course, I don't know if it would from a computer either. As of yet untitled. Maybe, "stormy blue sky." Or, I'll come up with something better.
cleaner blog look?
Test of re-learning embed of YouTube
html, flash, and the tablets.
So why do these same sites insist on using Flash for video on a computer screen? One would think Flash is a technology that is on the way out, yet there are some sites that rely on it, and do not even have separate apps for tablets and phones.
Flash uses too much resources, and often doesn't work well when used on a tablet, or sometimes even a computer. Html is lighter on resources, and works effortlessly (except when it doesn't load properly or a browser doesn't have the capability to play it).
Is it a commercial reason? Would it be harder to place ads with html in video? I don't know. I do know that Android is becoming a very popular operating system, not to mention Apple. I'm told Apple is very much opposed to using Flash on devices. So, the question remains, why isn't everyone using html?
HTML video and audio do not always work in tablet
test of dictating blogger from tablet
Where next ?
If I discover new things, I'll post here about that as well....
Really? Check your page and connection?
People wonder why I am sometimes overly paranoid about security and avoiding malware on the internet. When I get a message telling me that I can't visit my own page because of DNS connection or some such thing......and being signed in too. Really Google? This happens even still with the Google in charge? Now, I'll be keeping track of things way too carefully just because Google is not as all mighty as one might think. Is it blogger? Is it all of Google? Is it really the internet in my location? Who knows.
And now, "An error occured while trying to save...." Really? Come on Google.
Another test of IA viewer to work in Firefox
IA Embed and different browsers, and Opera looks good lately
But Chrome is what can see all the audio/video/embed/other. opera seems super fast though. Hmm...
Oh right, the novel I was writing...
The Meaning of Google Search Console
So far, for some reason beyond my understanding, this blog is doing well in the all-mighty Google Console tool. Yet, others don't. Hmm....
Even if I could comprehend how to fix crawl errors (and other such problems Console has informed me of), I don't know if I would want to spend the time struggling with it. It seems a great effort to fix a few errors. Oh well, continue on I guess.
Test of IA book embed
This is mainly a test of writing my own embed code (rather than iframe) to embed a digital book from Internet Archive. Hope it works. From the preview, it doesn't seem to work the way I imagined.
Boot (uke and bass with musecore)
This was the best 25 seconds of written notation I came up with thus far. I stopped doing it, but might try to improve again if I have(make) time. I've always been weak on written notation, because it is so much easier just to play and record than to write it.But now, tht I am learning simple coding, it seems not very different from that. I've really caught the html coding bug, but am truly not very good at that yet either...
test of bluefish editor
This is just a test of using "BlueFish" editor for html and transfer to blog or site.
Here is some more text in a paragraph tag This audio is wav format, and might not play in all playersStrange Women
The 39 Steps
Air Ship Destroyer (In The Clouds)
This movie is a preface to almost every dystopian Sci-Fi movie ever. It seems to predict not only WWI, but WWII perhaps. As best I can tell, it has some connection to a Jules Verne story. It, and many of the other videos on this blog are freely available on the Internet Archive site.
The Lost Zeppelin
Blog Description CSS broken in Blogger?
But what about from Vimeo?
Non, C'set le meme chose avec YouTube.
Another attempt with a different video source
Apparently, can only be done with an embed code if one wants, Google Chrome at least, to see anything but a black box where the video should be. Since it is my goal to post html video and audio, not embed, I left this out.
Another test, as my method didn't work on some other site.
A certain blog hosting service, that will remain nameless, didn't accept my html code for video. Just to prove that it should work, I am attempting to post the same video here. I may attempt to embellish it, as I have done on a third site with a different source video. The video below, should it work, will be a version of Robin hood made for TV in the 1950s.Problem is, the posts all end up with the same css style for video. In other words, I end up doing one post, and all the videos have the same color border and background. Why? Again, Chrome and Firefox are best. Added another file that should play on tablets and phones...maybe.Video should be updated to play on tablets. Will test periodically.

Aiff best copies
I may have gotten better at post-production finally to the point where I can sort of do it. Here are the best copies of songs so far.

Most tablets, as far as I can tell, seem as if they are being designed not for use with Flash. Sometimes, there may be a special "app...
